Oh, hey, did I forget to mention that I waited on Jimmy Rankin at work on Saturday? Yeah. I sold him a cake and some sandwiches for his wife’s birthday gathering. Lemon Chiffon. MmmmMmmGood.
The whole time he was there, I could hear “Morning Bound Train” in my head. I was definitely waiting for him to burst out into song.

Happy birthday, Mrs. Rankin.

I’m not really a baseball fan, but this photo is fantastic.

Hi I am leaving my house wearing yoga pants, Uggs, and a North Face puffer jacket.

minou:

A. So, you know, KNOW THAT before you take fashion advice from me.

B. What’s up Maine? Kind of nice to live in a place where IT DOESN’T FUCKING MATTER.

C. I look like a REALLY meth-ed out sorority girl on her way to her 8 am class.

D. All of the above.

Been there. I’ve also walked to the LC in my starry jammies. Classay.

If guns kill, then pencils make spelling mistakes.

(via time-stands-still)

Perhaps. But wouldn’t having a pencil increase the possibility of making a spelling mistake? How can one make a spelling mistake without a writing utensil?

You know you've been writing a paper for too long...

when, while writing, you can cite off the top of your head exactly which article you got the information from, in perfect APA style…

Things that make my blood boil. →

This is a little old (over the summer) but it still makes me angry. I wish people might do their homework before creating official-looking articles -which attempt to “expose the lie” - that are unfounded.

If Obama is actually trying to get the Convention on the Rights of the Child ratified in the US, I applaud him. Actually, I applaud him several times. Maybe these folks would realize how ridiculous their arguments were if they knew that over 200 countries around the world have signed and ratified this treaty.

The Convention does not allow children to “demand” things from their parents, or make parents fulfill their children’s every desire. Rather, it recommends that children have input into decisions that affect them - it’s just asking you to listen to what your kids have to say, even if you don’t act on it.

If you’re interested, check out Unicef’s Children’s Rights section.

Tumblr camera stats →

marco:

I compiled these stats from Tumblr photo uploads. The biggest surprise, for me, was how poorly Palm’s webOS devices (the Pre and Pixi) are doing relative to Android devices.

Minor Marco.org exclusive info: among the Android devices in this sample, the G1 is by far the most popular, but the Droid has already reached 20% of the G1’s volume. Additionally, the Droid is nearly 4 times as popular as the Pre.

It didn’t surprise me that photobooth and the like were very popular for tumblr users - easy access for gpoys and the like. What I would like to know is how these stats were compiled. I’m not very knowledgeable about this stuff, I don’t know if the photos themselves contain information about what device was used, or whether they’re going by tags or some other system… Anyone know?
